Field Evaluation of the Efficacy of Fungicides and Rhizosphere Bacterial Antagonists against Rice Stem Rot Disease

Rice stem rot disease in paddy cultivation leads to reduction of yield. Management this is difficult as it soil borne. In the present study, field trials were conducted during Rabi 2016-17 and early Kharif 2017-18 assess effectiveness twelve fungicides four rhizosphere bacterial antagonistic isolates (RRB-1 RRB-4) against rice disease. Disease incidence was recorded from date initial i.e., once 15 days maximum tillering panicle emergence. Pooled analysis reveals that Hexaconazole lowest per cent index (32.22) with highest grain yield straw 7.43 t/ha 7.22 respectively, followed by Difenoconazole 7.29 6.88 respectively. On other hand, antagonists using root dipping foliar spray RRB-4 showed less PDI 32.92 6.97 6.61 t/ha. With hexaconazole (0.2%) (105 106 CFU/ml) can be effectively managed rot.
